Cinnamon-Raisin Bread
As a rule not one of us likes raisins -- in anything. Except my oldest will once in a blue moon randomly ask for cinnamon-raisin bread.

Mini Vacation

Tickets in hand for July 16th - YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!! Saw them a few years back and can't wait to see them in a few months!! One of my faves and this one too...and I can keep going!

Beer Batter Bread
What a crazy weekend! Last basketball game and party, circus and much more.
It's only 12:30 today and I have already baked and cooked an enormous amount of food for these little people. They are off from school so need to keep this place stocked with snacks. I made chocolate banana muffins, chocolate chip apple cookies (to get rid of two apples that were about to go bad!), tomorrow's dinner of roasted chicken, sweet potatoes and carrots. Right now I have simmering on the stove beef stew and in the oven my friend's amazing beer bread. She made it for us recently and it was so good. Trying to get rid of a few bottles of beer so put one in the stew and used one for the bread. Logging the recipe here for future reference as it is so amazingly quick and good!

Valentine's Weekend
My little guys are so excited that today is the last day of school before a week off for winter break.
Today they have their valentine's parties at school. My oldest was complaining that I always make him bring plates and napkins, so I volunteered for the cupcakes. He wound up having a basketball game rescheduled to last night so we didn't get home until late so this labor of love finished around 10 pm - oy.

I bought these little card/treat holders from Pottery Barn a few years back. The kids are excited for valentine's morning to put their homemade cards into their brothers valentine holder. Of course they will get some chocolate and other goodies too in there. :)

Spinach Artichoke Cups and Mongolian Beef
Happy Monday!
Hosted a dinner party Saturday using the theme of recipes from Tasty and Tip Hero. My friend made these spinach artichoke cups that were amazing and I made Mongolian Beef (which the kids gobbled up too), brown rice, green beans and a salad.

| Spinach artichoke cups After a week of AC/DC it is time to dial it down a notch.....Somwhere Only We Know came on Pandora yesterday. Never liked this song much, but for some reason it is sticking now so I dowloaded it and have it on repeat. I have my own apple itunes account now so also downloaded my fav coldplay live album. This week I am going to do my best to get tickets to their concert in NJ July 17th -- fingers crossed!! Have a good week! |
