Limping to the finish line of birthday parties! Man, March is just insane!
Yesterday we had my oldest and middle guy's family party at their favorite hibachi restaurant. I brought their birthday hats, the number cookies I made, etc. all to the restaurant so we didn't lose any of our traditions. It was fun.
When we got home my house looked like a bomb hit it with all the toys from the past two days. The kids were covered in black from a forensic kit my oldest got and of course we had unexpected company drop by. oy.
I spent the rest of the day writing out 52 thank you cards for my boys to send out for all their great gifts. I had them sign their names. My oldest really should write out his own thank you cards, but I just wanted to get it over with. Maybe next year he'll get the responsibility!

Bowling Party
Put a fork in me I AM DONE.
Rough day yesterday. Came home and baked for the school bake sale and prepped party favors for my oldest's birthday party.
It was flurrying all day today. My middle guy said "the newsman said nothing about snow!". He cracks me up.
My oldest had his birthday party -- 23 total little boys bowling. They had a blast, but man they wiped me out.
Immediately following I went to confirm tomorrow's family party for my oldest and middle guy at a hibachi place, dropped baked good off. Brought my oldest to our neighbor's kid's party and then went back to bake sale to buy stuff to support.
A friend sent a note a few hours ago asking if I could help her out and watch her son overnight so I got all 4 boys here with me now. They are oddly quiet, but I am not questioning it! :)
Finally, just finished baking the traditional birthday age cookies. I used this recipe and it was SO easy and they are delish. If you know me, you know I am going to be 90 making 60 year old birthday cookies.....why did I ever start this tradition! :)

Party Day
This morning my middle guy had his first ever birthday party with his classmates. He was so excited. We did it at Stew Leonard's and they did an AMAZING job! So pleased.
In other news, I am irrationally excited about my new embroidered Easter tablecloth. I am sharing it here because it makes me happy. :)
Resting for a bit and tonight going out for drinks. Hope everyone has a nice Saturday!
28 little people were very excited to take home the goody bags we made. :) |
Right now my house looks like the day after Christmas with all the new toys. They are having a blast.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Happy St. Pat's! The Leprechaun brought goodies for my boys. They were so excited. :)
Had a great trip to Berlin despite a 7 hour delay going there due to snow in NY.
Two memorable meals include La Soupe Populaire which was excellent. On the last night a bunch of us also went to Hofbreau Haus which was fun.
This past weekend was my birthday and I was surprised with a limo to take us to Per Se. I was so excited to finally try it, but it was sadly a disappointment; nothing we ate was spectacular. The view however was amazing overlooking Columbus Circle and part of Central Park....really breathtaking.
We ended the night at a friend's house who has the same birthday as me.
Sunday was insanely busy getting the house in order, Easter pictures, baking/cooking for the week, laundry, etc.
Yesterday my middle guy turned 5 so I took a half day to celebrate with him. He was so excited to bring his cupcakes to school. :)
He was sent home early though because he had a rash on his face (doc said it is just a skin irritation). We took them to dinner and they were WILD. Oy. Some family stopped by for cake at our house afterwards.
My littlest guy has been up crying all night past two nights because he can't sleep with a stuffy nose.
I am in serious need of sleep.
And that's the complete recap of the past 2 weeks. :)
Corned beef and cabbage is in the slow cooker for my little people to enjoy tonight. Wishing everyone a fun St. Patrick's Day!

Berlin Bound!
Woke up this morning feeling SUPER excited for my trip to Berlin tomorrow. So much to do today for work and still need to tie up loose ends at home. I think I left the kids twice for 24-48 hours since they were born and this is going to be a few days so have to admit my excitement is certainly being balanced by some worry.
I have mapped out their lunch and dinner each day and put reminders on my husband's calendar for what to take out of the freezer on what day. I have their school schedules on the fridge so there isn't any confusion.
Need to go to the bank to label money for each day for the person who helps with homework, the tutor, the cleaning lady.
I have Fresh Direct coming to deliver milk, fresh fruit, bread, etc. on Sunday so have my husband's calendar marked for that too so he takes the boxes in and puts everything away.
Of course 4 major birthdays take place while I am gone - my Dad, my niece, my nephew and one of my BFFs. So tonight need to wrap presents and get cards prepped. I had hoped I could do it Sunday, but post party it took hours to clean and I was tired from lack of sleep so couldn't do much more than that. :)
Anyway, my point is LOTS of organizing is taking place so I can go and not feel like a total stress case!
In other news my obsession with Coldplay's live album continues. This is on repeat on the ipod since this morning. Between this song and Starbucks I have a hunch that's why I am feeling so pumped up today! :) :) :)
